World Kindness Week
November 10–16, 2025
World Kindness Day was first celebrated on November 13, 1997, when several humanitarian groups came together and made a Declaration of Kindness. World Kindness Day is celebrated all over the world every year on November 13. World Kindness Day evolved into World Kindness Week, in which we are all asked to make a similar declaration. World Kindness Week encourages everyone to be kind to each other, to yourself, and to the world.
The Graduate College is once again celebrating World Kindness Week by recognizing and thanking graduate students who have gone out of their way to spread kindness and compassion. Graduate faculty and staff can nominate students that have demonstrated true acts of kindness to be 2025 Kindness Champions. Two winners, selected by the Graduate College, will receive a UC hoodie and be featured in the November 12th edition of the GradCurrents graduate student newsletter. All nominees will be recognized in the newsletter as well.
If you would like some ideas on making your own Declaration of Kindness, check out our Kindness Toolkit, which will be published here on Monday, November 10. Remember, even a small act of kindness can make a huge impact on someone else. Let’s work on making World Kindness Day every day!
